The Marichka maritime drone has successfully completed its initial tests on the water, according to the military news reporter Kravchuk on his Telegram channel. This Ukrainian-produced underwater drone is capable of targeting ships, bridge supports, and coastal defenses used by the Russian occupying forces.
Engineers who were involved in the development of the UAV have stated Marichka possesses exceptional capabilities, as it can effectively neutralize various surface targets such as boats, ships, bridge pylons, and coastal fortifications. The key advantages of this maritime drone lie in its minimal noise emissions and its capacity to operate discreetly. Additionally, it boasts the capability to counteract enemy electronic warfare systems and is equipped with potent ammunition for sinking Russian naval vessels.
The Ukrainian developers express their conviction that, "We believe that after the inaugural deployment of Marichka, the occupying fleet will withdraw from the Black and Azov Seas and relocate to the Caspian Sea."
