Ukrainian director Oleh Bobalo is killed near Bakhmut, Donetsk region

On December 21, Ukrainian film and TV director Oleh Bobalo was killed in the fighting near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region

Ukrainian opera and drama director Yevhen Lavrenchuk informed about this, Espreso reports.

“My colleague and friend, the director Oleh Bobalo, was killed near Bakhmut. Oleh is no longer there. Moments of childhood, joint New Year's meetings, the time when we performed together in the Lviv youth theater, and then in the Boris Ozerov Theater flashed before my eyes... I will do everything to convey this to the world community. The world should know. And remember forever,” Lavrenchuk noted.

Bobal's wife, actress Anna Yaremchuk, also confirmed the director's death.

“I really don't know how to live without you. For friends: I don't know when the funeral will be, as Oleh's body hasn't been brought yet (they said two or three days, so count from yesterday). When I know, I'll write. To be fair, he should be making movies. He should be in demand in this field. Instead, we had a machine gun at home and a bunch of military items that my mother had handed down from America for the boys. Did he want to be a soldier? No. Did he want to change the movie theater for trenches? No. Should he make it through the entire war unscathed? Yes. Because I prayed so much to God to save my Oleh. And now I don't know how to live without him in every sense. I was like this because he lit me up from the inside. Now the light is gone,” she noted.

For reference. Oleh Bobalo is from Lviv. He was a director of television films, commercials, and TV shows. In 2021, he shot the Ukrainian Cinema: Becoming film. He also played in the Lviv Debut Youth Theater, as well as in the Boris Ozerov Theater.
