Ukrainian Defense Forces repel 50 Russian attacks over last day, fighting continues in Bakhmut - General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced this in its daily report on Facebook. 

The Russian force keeps concentrating on offensive actions in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, about 50 enemy attacks have been repulsed. Bakhmut and Marinka remain the center of the fighting, Ukrainian defenders are holding the line.

Defense Forces launched 15 strikes on the Russian manpower and equipment concentration and destroyed 3 ammunition depots

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces conducted 10 strikes on the areas of Russian troops and military equipment concentration. Also, 5 enemy UAVs of Shahed-136/131 type, 2 UAVs of Zala type, 1 Orlan-10, 1 Cube and 1 Lancet type were shot down.

Over the past day, missile and artillery units destroyed 5 areas of weapons and military equipment concentration, 3 ammunition and fuel and lubricants depots, 1 air defense facility and 5 other important opponent targets.

Russia launched 8 missile and 49 air strikes

Over the past day, the invading Russian forces carried out 8 missile strikes and 49 air strikes and fired 82 times from multiple launch rocket systems. Civilians were injured, private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged. 

Situation in different directions 

The situation in the northern and northwestern Ukrainian border did not change significantly.

In the northern and north-eastern part of Ukraine, the Russian troops carried out air strikes on 3 settlements in Chernihiv region and 1 in Sumy region. They also fired mortar and artillery shells at 6 settlements in the Sumy region and 10 in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, 8 localities in the Kharkiv region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire. 

The Russian army did not conduct any offensive in the Lyman direction. Artillery attacks were delivered on 1 locality in the Luhansk region and 5 in Donetsk region.

The Russian occupation forces continue to attack in the Bakhmut direction with heavy fighting in the city of Bakhmut. The occupiers unsuccessfully assaulted 3 localities. As a result, 16 localities in the Donetsk region suffered from hostile shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian invaders conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of Avdiivka. They fired at 7 localities in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled attacks in the area of Marinka over the last day. Six localities in the Donetsk region were also subjected to hostile attacks.

In the Vuhledar direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions yesterday. They opened fire at 3 localities in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian troops are on the defensive. They attacked over 40 localities. Among them: 5 in Donetsk region; 10 in Zaporizhzhia region; 1 in Dnipropetrovs'k region; 5 in Kherson region and the city of Kherson itself.

Ukrainian citizens who refused to obtain a Russian passport are forcibly evicted from their homes in Starobilsk. Usually, the Russian occupiers come to the dwelling no more than twice. On the third time, people and their belongings are forced out into the street. The occupiers are not even deterred by the fact that minor children may live in the apartment. After the eviction, such citizens are taken to filtration centers, and their housing is given to the Russian occupation army for occupancy.
