Ukrainian Defense Forces repel 12 Russian attacks in Avdiivka sector - General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on October 25.

Frontline situation

There were 66 combat engagements over the last day. In total, Russia launched 47 airstrikes and about 25 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.

Unfortunately, as a result of a guided aerial bomb strike on a residential area in the city of Beryslav, Kherson region, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 30 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

Russian attacks in frontline Ukrainian regions

• In the Kupyansk direction, 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

• In the Lyman direction, over 10 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

• In the Bakhmut direction, over 20 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

• In the Avdiivka direction, more than 10 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

• In the Marinka direction, over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

• In the Shakhtarsk direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, about 25 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army.

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol sector, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut sector, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhaust the enemy along the entire front line," the General Staff emphasized.

Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes against the Russian troops

Within a day, the Defense Forces' aviation launched 7 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions. 

Missile troops destroyed 3 munitions depots, 6 artillery pieces, and an enemy air defense radar station.

• On the night of October 25, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with drones. Explosions were heard in the Khmelnytsky region, and in the Shepetivka district, drones fell on a critical infrastructure facility as a result of being shot down.

• Terrorists used 11 Shahed strike drones. Air defense destroyed all the 'kamikaze' drones. Unfortunately, there are wounded among the civilian population as a result of falling debris. In Slavuta and Netishyn, Khmelnytsky region, 11 apartment buildings and 9 private houses, 2 educational institutions, 2 fire and rescue units, a police station and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.
