Ukrainian border guards repulse enemy assault near Bakhmut, destroy 2 Russian observation points
On Monday, January 2, Ukrainian border guards fought two heavy battles on the outskirts of Bakhmut and in the city itself

One battle lasted more than four hours, from 12:30 pm to 4:50 pm. It took place in the area of the Pidhorodne settlement. A group of about three dozen Russian soldiers tried to storm a Ukrainian stronghold. The assault was repulsed. According to preliminary data, 7 Russians were killed and 9 were wounded. Ukrainian border guards suffered no losses.
On another site, in the area of the Bakhmut landfill, Ukrainian border guards, together with a unit of the Special Operations Forces, destroyed two of the Russian military's observation points between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Air reconnaissance of the Special Operations Forces confirmed the Russian forces' losses: five soldiers were killed, and three more were wounded.
