Ukrainian aviation launch four strikes on Russian forces in Kherson region - OC South

This is reported by the Operational Command South.

On August 24, the situation in the operational zone of OC South remained difficult, but controlled.

During the day, Russia continued fighting along the occupied defense line. There were no significant changes in the composition and position of its units.

A diversionary reconnaissance group tried to approach our observation post near Blagodatne. It was discovered in time and stopped by fire resistance. Having suffered losses, Russian forces retreated.

The attempt of the Russian motorized rifle unit to carry out assault actions in the direction of Tavriysky was also unsuccessful. Russian forces retreated with losses.

Russia tried to compensate for the lack of success on land with air and missile strikes:

Russian troops attacked the positions of the Armed Forces six times with helicopters and attack aircraft. No losses.

Russian forces hit a railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region with air-launched missiles. Passenger cars caught fire, buildings, power lines, and cars were damaged.

In the evening, Mykolaiv was attacked by rockets of the Smerch salvo fire system. The blow is aimed at the port infrastructure. Without human losses. The scale of the destruction is being clarified.

On Independence Day, Ukrainian aviation carried out four strikes on areas of concentration of enemy manpower, weapons and equipment in Beryslavsky district, in particular, on air defense systems in Nova Kakhovka.

Missile and artillery units, as part of the execution of fire missions, struck the Kakhovsky bridge. The results of hits are being clarified.

The Russian army "lost weight" by 12 tanks, three units of armored vehicles and a warehouse of ammunition. The command and observation post of the battalion tactical group of the 33rd motorized rifle regiment and the 7th military base was hit.

The final Russian losses are being investigated.

As part of counter-subversive measures, law enforcement agencies identified and reported a suspect to an Odesa resident who justified Russia's armed invasion of Ukraine and the criminal actions of the occupiers.

During the investigation, domestic and foreign passports of a citizen of an enemy state, a pension certificate of an FSB major, and Russian bank cards were discovered and seized from him.  Investigations are ongoing, the Russian agent is in custody.

Another agent of the Russian Federation was detained during the "hunt" for Ukrainian HIMARS positions in the front-line areas of the Mykolaiv region. Currently, this spy is also in custody, investigative actions are ongoing.

A storm is blowing in the Black Sea, so 12 ships and boats of the enemy fleet continue to take shelter closer to the base points along the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea.

However, four Kalibr carriers, including one underwater, keep 28 high-precision projectiles ready.
