The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this.

“The Russian forces are trying to hold the temporarily captured territories, concentrating efforts on restraining the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in certain directions. At the same time, they do not stop trying to conduct offensives in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions. The Russian enemy is shelling the positions of our troops along the contact line, carrying out engineering equipment of defensive positions and lines in separate directions and conducting aerial reconnaissance. Violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of warfare, the Russian troops continue to strike critical infrastructure and the houses of the civilian population,” the General Staff wrote.

On October 19, Ukrainian aviation launched ten strikes against the occupying Russian forces. It has been confirmed that 6 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, as well as 4 positions of the enemy's air defense system, have been destroyed.

The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down 4 cruise missiles, one Ka-52 helicopter, and thirteen Iranian-made Shahed-136 UAVs.

Artillery struck 3 control points, 4 areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment. The electronic warfare station, 1 bridge and 1 pontoon crossing were damaged as well.

  • On Wednesday, October 19, the Russian aggressor launched 4 missiles and 11 airstrikes on the territory of Ukraine. 9 Shahed-136 ‘kamikaze’ drones that took off from Belarus were also used.

  • The occupation authorities of the Zaporizhzhia region conducted a "census" of the population that remained in the temporarily occupied territories.

  • Recruited Russian soldiers from prisons, after receiving weapons, leave their units and try to return to Russia.

  • The Russian occupiers forcibly involve the civilian population in fortification works in Kherson.
