Ukrainian army advances in Melitopol area, consolidates on achieved lines – General Staff

Ukrainian defenders continued to successfully conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol sector over the day, consolidating their positions

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

It is noted that 31 combat engagements took place on the frontline over the past day.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

In the Kupyansk direction, 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

In the Lyman direction, over 10 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

In the Bakhmut direction, over 15 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

In the Avdiivka direction, more than 5 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

In the Maryinka direction, over 5 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 25 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army. 

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol sector, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

Russian forces launch 4 missile strikes, 30 airstrikes against Ukraine

Over the last day, Russian terrorists launched 4 missile strikes, 30 airstrikes, and 32 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed.

Ukrainian Defense Forces destroy 10 Russian artillery pieces and a munitions depot

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation launched 6 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions and 4 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

Moreover, missile and artillery units destroyed 10 artillery pieces at firing positions, one munitions depot, as well as on radar station.
