Ukrainian Armed Forces sees possible EU joint training mission as signal of stronger defense policy - journalist Khotyn

Radio Svoboda journalist Rostyslav Khotyn told about this on Espresso.

"EU defense ministers are discussing in Prague the issue of a special military training mission for Ukraine. The head of EU diplomacy Borrell said that if we have training missions for African countries, why do we still not have a special training support mission for the Armed Forces? The EU, which wants to strengthen its defense identity, may create such a mission," he said.

According to Khotyn, it is not known where it may be - whether in Ukraine or in neighboring countries.

"A joint EU training mission would be an important signal for the Union. If Ukraine aspires to the EU, and the Union supports Ukraine, saying that Ukraine is fighting not only for itself, but for Europe and European values, it is important that there be a special EU mission for Ukrainian rmed Forces."  - concluded the journalist.
