Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in Kherson region will be longer, but more devastating - Defense Express expert Kyrychevskyi
Invading Russian forces will not be able to hold on to the right bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region for a long time, because they will be defeated by November, and the results will be more devastating.
Defense Express expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi said this on Espreso TV.
"The Russians will not be able to hold on to the right bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region for a long time, as there is a time frame until the winter cold. It looks like they will be defeated before that. We can assume that the operation will last longer than planned, but the results will be more devastating for the Russians," he noted.
According to the expert, it is one thing if a group of several thousand Russian troops simply surrender in Kherson, and another - when it is physically destroyed.
"The morale of the Russians may fall. For some reason, we have a custom to evaluate the success of the troops solely by the mileage of the advance, but let's see how many Russians were destroyed there. At least 2 thousand occupiers and 122 tanks were destroyed. It turns out that in two weeks of fighting the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region destroyed more tanks than in the Kharkiv region," Kyrychevskyi added.
He added that the destroyed manpower regiment is also indicative.
"If up to a certain point, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit ammunition depots, now our troops can afford to waste ammunition on enemy positions. Now we can shoot at them for hours. The Armed Forces of Ukraine can attack enemy control points, food warehouses - do everything to stimulate the Russians to some thoughts. If they think long term, their end there will be dire, even if it is stretched out into November. Judging by the fact that if there is already a task to physically destroy the enemy group on the Kherson bridgehead, it will be completed to the end," the military expert concluded.
