Ukrainian Armed Forces may resume eastern offensive in near future
Ukraine's Armed Forces may resume their offensive, but they would need to have reserves and gain a foothold in the liberated territories
Viktor Trehubov, an officer with Ukraine's Armed Forces, said this on Espreso TV.
"If we move forward too quickly, we won't have time to set up logistics. We will have a thin line in front and an empty line behind it - this is risky. That is why they are not going to Svatove now, although the Russians are allegedly preparing to defend Starobilsk," he said.
According to Trehubov, it is possible to resume an offensive, but for this Ukraine's Armed Forces need to have reserves and gain a foothold in the liberated territories.
"Since the last separatists and subversive-reconnaissance groups are currently being searched for in Izyum, let's complete this process. I think that the offensive will resume in the near future, and here a lot depends on the fate of Lyman and Yampol. If they can be effectively surrounded and occupied, then very good work will open there - through Kreminna and beyond. Given that there is already a road through Svatove to Starobilsk. The only issue is the development of liberated territories and reserves. Only the General Staff has data on reserves and the ability to transfer logistics across the Oskil River," the officer concluded.
