Ukrainian Armed Forces hit 15 areas of Russian concentration and repel attacks near 16 towns and villages - Ukrainian General Staff 

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the morning report on January 16.

Over the past day, Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled Russia’s attacks in one settlement of the Luhansk region and 15 in the Donetsk region.

Ukrainian troops hit 15 areas of Russian concentration and equipment

On January 15, Ukrainian aviation conducted 9 strikes on Russia’s concentration areas and 2 strikes on their air defense facilities.

At the same time, Ukrainian Defense Forces’ units of missile troops and artillery struck 1 control point, 6 areas of manpower concentration and military equipment, 1 ammunition depot and 1 means of electronic warfare of Russia.

Russian forces launched 2 missile strikes and made over 55 attacks from MLRS in Ukraine

Yesterday, Russia launched 2 missile strikes and fired over 55 attacks from multiple missile launchers, in particular, at the civilian infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions.

The threat of air and missile strikes by Russia remains.

Russian troops are advancing in two directions

Russia conducts offensive actions at the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions and suffers significant losses in manpower.

No Russian offensive groups were detected on the border with Belarus and the northern Ukrainian border with Russia. 

At the same time, four settlements in the Sumy region and eleven in the Kharkiv region were shelled with mortars and artillery.

In the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, Russia shelled the areas of 23 settlements. Among them are five in the Kharkiv region and five in the Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, more than 25 settlements were hit by fire. In particular, these are Spirne, Ozaryanivka, Klishchyivka, Ivan-Darivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Druzhba, New York and Pivnichne in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, nine settlements in the Donetsk region were shelled with tanks and all types of artillery.

In the Vuhledar direction, three settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russia fired from tanks, mortars, cannon and missile artillery at the positions of Ukrainian troops near more than 24 settlements, including ten in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Russia continues shelling the settlements along the right bank of the Dnipro river. 17 localities were affected, including Antonivka, Zolota Balka, Havrylivka, Lviv, Sadove and Kherson.
