Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy 21 of 23 Russian cruise missiles that attacked Ukraine at night
On the night of April 28, the Russian forces attacked the territory of Ukraine with 23 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles. The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to shoot down 21 of them, together with two drones
This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
"At about 4 a.m., Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine from Tu-95 strategic aircraft near the Caspian Sea. The units of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Ukrainian Air Force in cooperation with the Defense Forces destroyed 21 out of 23 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, as well as two operational and tactical UAVs," he noted.
The targets were destroyed in the areas of responsibility of the Center Air Command, East Air Command and South Air Command.

On the night of April 27-28, residents of Poltava, Cherkasy, Dnipro and Mykolaiv regions heard explosions. In Uman, Cherkasy region, a Russian missile hit a high-rise building, causing 5 casualties. A young woman and a 3-year-old child died as a result of a Russian strike on Dnipro.

There were also explosions in Kyiv and the region that night. During the attack on Ukraine, air defense forces shot down 11 Russian missiles and two drones in Kyiv's airspace.
