Ukrainian Armed Forces are ready to meet the enemy in case of invasion from Belarus - State Border Service spokesman
Situation on the border is stable and under control, Ukrainian military is preparing fortifications for possible hostilities
Andriy Demchenko, spokesman of the State Border Service, stated this live on air on Espreso TV.
"Defense forces have never ruled out that units of the Armed Forces of Belarus could join the war. We remember well where Russian troops came from. Now the territory of Belarus is used by Russia to launch missile strikes" he said.
According to him, the use of ‘kamikaze’ drones from the territory of Belarus has also been recorded recently.
"Since the very beginning of the war, maximum attention has been paid to this section of the border in order to strengthen it - from Volyn to the Chernihiv region. Fortification takes place both along the border line and in the border areas. We have done this in order to deter the enemy from re-invasion or from an attempt by Belarusian military to enter. Also, units of Defense Forces have the opportunity to take cover in case of missile strikes and start full-scale combat in order to give a decent rebuff to the enemy who tries to enter" - Demchenko explained.
As of now, the situation on the Ukrainian border with Belarus is stable and under control.
"We do not see any changes in the actions of Belarusian Armed Forces units. There are no changes in the quantitative composition and nature of the actions. However, we can clearly see the rhetoric of Belarusian authorities, who through manipulations, try to portrait Ukraine as the aggressor. We are getting ready, our military is well motivated and ready to meet the enemy" he concluded.
