Ukrainian armed forces already fight with third group of Russian army since full-scale war beginning — military expert Chernyk

Military expert Petro Chernyk said this on Espreso.

“In my view, we are now facing the third group of Russian forces. The first group was well-trained and consisted of around 200,000 people. The second group was deployed in the past year. Currently, they are using a replacement approach by assigning around 20-22 thousand inexperienced soldiers to the formation. These soldiers are given basic equipment and sent into battle. They no longer have access to high-quality weapons. The most they can produce for tanks is up to 20 T-90M machines per month. They rely on outdated weapons like Kalashnikov assault rifles, which number in the hundreds of thousands. If necessary, they may resort to using weapons from the Second World War. In terms of motivation, they are psychologically weak and unwilling to fight, but they still end up losing their lives,” he said. 

• According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russia is making ongoing efforts to reinforce its military forces without officially announcing mobilization. Wagner Private Military Company is recruiting gamers, and the Ministry of Defense is sending cadets to the Ukraine border.
