Ukrainian Armed Forces' actions in south are precursor to Russian forces' encirclement, escape - General Malomuzh
The head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service from 2005 to 2010, Mykola Malomuzh, believes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive actions will be the beginning of the Ukrainian army's major offensive on all frontlines.
He expressed this opinion on the air of the Verdict with Serhii Rudenko program on Espreso TV.
"Large-scale counteroffensive operations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces can be launched in other directions, besides the Kherson region. The planning of such operations is carried out by the top military leadership of the state. We cannot talk about them. However, if we take the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kherson region as an example, then counteroffensive actions can include strikes on the headquarters, logistics routes, command posts, and warehouses with ammunition of the Russians. Such actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces can lead to the fact that Russian troops will be forced to flee or be surrounded. Actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are a prerequisite for a large retreat of the Russian army", Malomuzh explained.
The general believes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive in the Kherson region is the beginning of a major offensive by the Ukrainian army in all directions of the front.
"The liberation of the Kherson region will be a major strategic failure for Russia, which will lead to the retreat of the Russian army from all temporarily Russia-occupied territories. Since a major failure in one direction of the front leads to a corresponding reaction in other directions. Unmotivated to go on the offensive, the Russian military will be faced with the choice of dying or retreating from the Ukrainian land", he added.
