Ukrainian and Russian troops fought 29 clashes over last day - AFU General Staff

On June 5, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information on their Facebook page.

In total, over the past day, Russian troops launched 14 missile and 40 air strikes, fired 51 MLRS attacks targeting Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements. The attacks resulted in civilian casualties, causing damage to private residences, educational institutions, and other crucial civilian and administrative infrastructure.

On the northern border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops attempted to cross the state border of Ukraine with a sabotage and reconnaissance group near Zelene, Kharkiv region. The attempt was unsuccessful.

• They launched missile attacks on 2 settlements and air strikes near 3 other settlements in the Kharkiv region.
• Furthermore, Russian forces launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of 28 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops launched an air strike near a settlement in the Donetsk region.

• Thirteen settlements across Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched artillery fire at 7 settlements across Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near 3 settlements. 

• They also shelled 10 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army launched air strikes near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region and shelled 3 settlements with artillery. 

In the Marinka direction, Russian forces launched an air strike on the town of Marinka.

• They shelled 3 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops shelled 3 settlements.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces launched air strikes near 4 settlements across Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

• They shelled 17 settlements across Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

Defense forces destroy 4 out of 6 cruise missiles and 6 out of 8 Shahed drones overnight on June 4

Yesterday, at night, Russian troops launched Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles and Iranian-made Shahed attack UAVs.

Through coordinated efforts between the air commands and the air defense units of other components within the Ukrainian Defense Forces,they successfully neutralized 4 out of 6 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and destroyed 6 out of 8 Shahed attack drones.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy 4 ammunition depots, 2 air defense systems and 4 electronic warfare stations

The aviation of the Ukrainian defense forces launched 15 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel throughout the day.

Over the day, Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit 3 control points, 2 concentrations of weapons and military equipment, 4 ammunition depots, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems and 4 electronic warfare stations. 

• On June 4, Russian troops shelled the border of the Sumy region 26 times. Two people were wounded as a result of the attack.
