Ukrainian Air Force confirm that Russian Kinzhal missile is shot down for the first time
The Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk confirmed that the Ukrainian military shot down a Russian Kinzhal missile for the first time.

Oleshchuk reported this on Telegram.
According to him, the Kinzhal missile was shot down using the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.
"I congratulate the Ukrainian people on a historic event! Yes, we have shot down the "unparalleled" Kinzhal! It happened during a night attack on May 4 in the sky of the Kyiv region. The Kh-47 missile was launched by a MiG-31K from the territory of Russia," Oleshchuk wrote.
He also urged not to make information about the work of air defense public.
"There is no need to rush to make public information that can be used by the enemy in advance. We will definitely report what, where, with what, and when we shot down. Everything has its time," Oleshchuk explained.
- On May 5, it became known that at about 02:40 on May 4, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully intercepted a Russian Kh-47 Kinzhal hypersonic missile in the sky over Kyiv for the first time.
