Ukrainian actor Bohdan Kolesnyk killed at frontlines

On 23 December, a well-known Ukrainian theater and film actor Bohdan Kolesnyk was killed in action at the age of 36 while performing a combat mission

After the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Bohdan volunteered for territorial defense, ultimately finding himself on the front line. Regrettably, he is now returning home as a fallen hero.

"Another loss... Our colleague, a talented Ukrainian actor Bohdan Kolesnyk, was killed today while performing a combat mission. May our Hero's memory be eternal! He is survived by his wife and little daughter... Our deepest condolences to Bohdan's family!" his colleague, People's Artist Olha Sumska, expressed her condolences.

Actress Dasha Sereda also expressed her sorrow.

"I can't believe it! A friend, a colleague, a kind, positive, purposeful, talented person. Bohdan Kolesnyk is dead. The actor and presenter, who was not a soldier, went to the territorial defense and then to the front immediately after the full-scale invasion. He was supposed to come back, but he can’t anymore. This is an indescribable pain! We are very sad, my friend! We will always miss you."

For reference: Bohdan Kolesnyk was born in Kryvyi Rih, graduated from the Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv Theatre University and built a successful career.

He has worked at the White Crow and Personalities theaters and the Luhansk Academic Theatre. Bohdan gained popularity after starring in the TV series SuperCops, Oper za vyklykom (Operative on Call), Toptun (Stomp), Maestro, and Vykhodte bez dzvinka (Leave Without a Call).
