Ukraine’s Zelenskyy discusses cooperation boost with Germany’s Merz
On Tuesday, March 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with Friedrich Merz, the leader of the CDU party, which won the elections to the German Bundestag

Zelenskyy wrote about this on X.
He noted that he coordinated positions with Merz and thanked him for his support.
"We in Ukraine greatly appreciate Germany’s efforts to restore European security and protect lives in Ukraine. We remember that Germany is a leader in supplying air defense systems to Ukraine and plays one of the key roles in ensuring our country's financial stability," the president emphasized.
He also added that he agreed with Merz on further cooperation and contacts.
- The German chancellor candidate, Friedrich Merz, recently suggested that Europe may have to create its own military alliance independent of NATO and the United States.
