Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has neutralized the FSB agent network that was adjusting the Russian army's airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia's military and civilian infrastructure

This is reported by the SBU.

A Russian agent, who on October 18 guided Russian missiles at an apartment building in Zaporizhzhia, was detained as a result of the SBU special operation.

According to the investigation, the man was a local resident, a representative of the Zaporizhzhia "military reenactment club" that brings together fans of reenacting historical events, including military battles.

In mid-October 2023, he was remotely recruited by Russia's FSB to conduct reconnaissance and subversive activities in a frontline city.

For covert communication with the Russian secret service, the accomplice chose the operational pseudonym "Palestinian" and created an anonymous chat room in a popular messenger.

“To ensure the fulfillment of enemy tasks, he formed his own group of informants, which included 4 local residents, including his relatives,” the statement says.

According to the investigation, they reconnoitered the Defense Forces’ locations in Zaporizhzhia, as well as transmitted the geolocation of residential infrastructure and industrial facilities.

To gather intelligence, the informants walked around the area or visited the facilities and took photos and videos of them with their own phones.

They passed the information they received to the "Palestinian", who sent it to the FSB through a "liaison" in one of the temporarily occupied cities in the Zaporizhzhia region.

During the searches of the residences of the detained FSB agent and his accomplices, firearms, computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of criminal activity were seized.

Also, the SBU found prohibited Soviet and pro-Kremlin symbols in the defendants' possession.

Currently, SBU investigators have served Palestinian a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law) and a custody as a measure of restraint has been imposed. He faces life imprisonment.
