Ukraine’s Presidential Office urges allies to facilitate weapons supply
Ukraine will not capitulate in exchange for power supply and will continue to persuade its Western allies to accelerate weapons supply
Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the Head of the Office of President of Ukraine, said this in an interview with 24 Kanal, a Ukrainian TV channel.
"When we're negotiating, when we're holding talks in different venues, we're saying, 'You know, you're going to give it [weapons] to us anyway. Because you won't be able to watch how people "genocide" other people. In such large numbers and so demonstratively. You will give us ATACMS missiles anyway, you will give us armored vehicles - Leopard or Abrams - any armored vehicle," said Podolyak.
According to him, the Ukrainian side explains the need for an accelerated supply of weapons and the partners understand it, but "they still cannot get over this key fear - the fear of war as such. It feels as if we come from different universes."
"Because we have no choice but to win this war. And we're not going to surrender in exchange for power supply. You're going to give us anti-missile systems anyway because the sky must be protected. So that we can reduce the number of these photos that you have to see of people killed in the 21st century, because they were at home in the peaceful city of Kyiv or the peaceful city of Vinnytsia," Podolyak concluded.
