Ukraine's PM Shmyhal hopes Russian banks will be completely disconnected from SWIFT
Ukraine is counting on the complete disconnection of Russian banks from SWIFT in the 9th EU sanctions package.
Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this during a meeting with foreign diplomats.
“The main topics of our meeting were weapons, finances and sanctions against the aggressor. In the 9th package of sanctions, we count on a complete disconnection of Russian banks from SWIFT and a ban on the entry of citizens of a terrorist state into the EU,” Shmyhal said.
On November 28, the largest delegation of ministers since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine arrived in Kyiv.
Thus, the foreign ministers of Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden arrived in Kyiv at the same time to discuss further support for Ukraine.
“The foreign ministers of the Northern Baltic countries visit Kyiv and meet with the highest officials of Ukraine, and it is the largest group of ministers to visit Ukraine since the beginning of Russian aggression. The main question is how to support Ukraine even more, Edgars Rinkēvičs tweeted.
