Ukraine's Ministry of Defense comments on statements about fall of alleged Ukrainian missile in Belarus
Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has commented on the statements regarding the fall of an alleged Ukrainian missile in Belarus and suggested that this may be a deliberate false-flag attack by Russia
This is stated in the official commentary of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense.
On Thursday, December 29, Russia once again launched a massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine. For this, the aggressor country used various types of missiles and Iranian 'kamikaze' drones. In total, 11 drones and 69 cruise missiles were used for the attack on Ukraine. S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles were also fired at Ukrainian towns in the frontline zone.
As a result of the attack, more than 18 residential buildings and 10 critical infrastructure facilities were damaged in Ukraine. People were killed. In this regard, Ukraine, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, exercises the unconditional right to self-defense.
Reserving this right, as well as the right to protect its own sky, Ukraine is ready to conduct an objective investigation of the incident that occurred on December 29 in the sky over the territory of Belarus. It is noted that it occurred as a result of repelling a massive missile attack on Ukraine by Russia.
For the investigation, Ukraine is ready to invite authoritative experts from among the states that are not connected with the support of the terrorist country.
The Ministry of Defense also noted that Russia has been trying to drag Belarus into an aggressive war against Ukraine for a long time. That is why the Ukrainian side does not rule out that the shooting down of an alleged Ukrainian missile over the territory of Belarus is a deliberate false-flag attack by the Russian Federation.
“In this regard, the Ukrainian side does not rule out deliberate false-flag attack by the terrorist state of Russia, which laid such a route for its cruise missiles in order to provoke their interception in the airspace over the territory of Belarus,” the message says.
