Ukraine's intelligence service warn of Russian false-flag operation at Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant
Russian forces are preparing a false-flag operation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which they will use to accuse the Ukrainian Armed Forces of shelling the facility.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense on Telegram.
Russian forces are actively creating a "picture" for their own propaganda. For this purpose, two buses of a crowd were recently brought to the station, which is supposed to play the role of local residents and staff. Real local residents and staff refuse to participate in such productions.
"To the Energodar stele at the entrance to the city, the Rashists drove a Pion self-propelled artillery installation with the letter Z painted in white paint. A blue-yellow Ukrainian flag was raised on the ACS. It is obvious that it will be used for further provocations with the aim of accusing the Armed Forces of Ukraine," warned intelligence.
Russian forces were firing at the ZNPP from the village of Vodyane. One of the artillery strikes damaged the first block of the pumping station of the thermal and underground communications shop. The other led to the partial destruction of the fire station responsible for the safety of the ZNPP. Also, as a result of Russian shelling, the forest and grass in the surrounding areas caught fire, which caused significant smoke. Extinguishing fires caused by shelling is complicated by shelling of the fire department.
