Ukraine’s Foreign Minister criticizes Germany for delaying tanks supply
Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba says that he does not understand why Germany supplies Ukraine with artillery systems, but delays tanks transfer.
Kuleba shared this in an interview with the German outlet ARD.
"Ukraine gets more German weapons - just which ones exactly? Main battle tanks are not among them," said Kuleba.
He notes that Germany has promised Ukraine further supplies of weapons, however it does not apply to the Leopard 2 battle tank, which Kyiv has repeatedly requested.
"Such a decision has not yet been made, there are no commitments. But we are working on it," said the minister.
He stressed that Ukraine cannot understand why the federal government is hesitating about supplying battle tanks, since it has already supplied artillery.
"To be honest, we don't understand this line of argument," says Kuleba.
He emphasized that if Ukraine is not sufficiently armed, the war will drag on, which is neither in the Kyiv’s interests nor its Western partners.
