This is his third injury at the front. Sentsov wrote about it on Facebook.
"I was wounded again, but not seriously – I caught a shrapnel in the side," Sentsov wrote.
He did not disclose the circumstances of his injury.
Oleh Sentsov is a Ukrainian film director from Simferopol. On May 10, 2014, officers of the Russian occupation security forces detained Oleh Sentsov in his hometown, accusing him of allegedly preparing a terrorist act. In August 2015, an occupation court sentenced the Ukrainian to 20 years in prison with a maximum security colony. In the end, the director spent more than 5 years in political detention. During this time, he was awarded several state awards of Ukraine: The Order of Courage of the first and third degrees, the National Shevchenko Prize, etc. He also received the Sakharov Prize.
After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Sentsov first served in the Territorial Defense Forces and then went to the front.
On July 8, during a counter-offensive, Sentsov sustained a concussion, and later that month, he was shelled and injured.
Sentsov also criticized men who do not go to defend Ukraine with weapons in their hands. "I cannot look at coffee shops crowded with bearded, muscled men without uniforms and empty cells in the list of my unit," he said.
