Ukraine’s defense forces eliminate 450 invaders, 13 tanks and 41 UAVs - General Staff

Over the past day, Ukrainian troops carried out assault operations south of Bakhmut in Donetsk region. At the same time, the Armed Forces destroyed 450 Russian soldiers, 13 tanks and 41 UAVs

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 22 to October 04, 23 are approximately:

General Staff report: Ukrainian troops conduct assault operations south of Bakhmut and consolidate their positions

The General Staff reported this on October 4.

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, near the border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, carries out active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to dangerous areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk direction, the Russian forces did not launch any offensive (assault) operations.

In the Lyman direction, defense forces repelled over 10 Russian attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian invaders unsuccessfully tried to regain lost ground near Andriivka, Donetsk region. Defense forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian enemy, and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled all hostile attacks in the area of Pervomaiske, Donetsk region. The Russian troops made over 10 unsuccessful attacks in the vicinity of Marinka and Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, the Russian militants did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

The Ukrainian defense forces continue to lead an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, have partial success in the areas west of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction, have partial success in the areas of Klishchiivka and Andriivka, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, continue to gain a foothold in the occupied lines and exhaust the Russian enemy.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue counter-battery combat, destroying warehouses and successfully hitting Russia's rear.

Russian army launched 5 missile strikes and 108 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

There were 43 combat clashes in the frontline over the last day.

In total, Russia launched 5 missile strikes and 108 air strikes and fired 55 times from multiple launch rocket systems at both Ukrainian troop positions and civilian objects in Ukraine. 

At the same time, Russia struck again at Ukraine using an Iskander-K cruise missile and 31 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Air defense forces destroyed 1 Iskander-K cruise missile and 29  Shahed drones.

Air strikes targeted 3 localities in Kharkiv region; 1 in Luhansk region; 20 in Donetsk region; 3 in Zaporizhzhia region; and 3 localities in Kherson region.

Over 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian troops destroyed 21 artillery systems and 6 air defense systems

Over the past day, the aviation of the defense forces carried out 14 strikes on the areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration and 6 on Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile troops struck 3 areas of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration and 21 Russia's artillery units.

  • Ukrainian troops destroyed 8 Russian warehouses in the Tavria direction within one day.
