Ukraine’s city of Lutsk hosts Belarusian Cultural Resistance forum

The forum’s organizers aimed to show there are two parts of Belarus: a pro-Russian one as a hostage of Lukashenko's regime, and the other – free one, a friend of Ukraine

The Forum of Belarusian Cultural Resistance was held in Lutsk on the territory of Lubart's castle with the participation of representatives of Belarus and Ukraine, Espreso reports.

The event was organized by the Kastus Kalinowsky Regiment, Festival of Independent Belarusian Documentary Cinema "1084.  On the border" and NGO "PDP "Priority".

The Belarusian Cultural Resistance forum featured an exhibition of the works of the Belarusian opposition poster artist Vladimir Tseslyer.  The exhibition takes place in the open air on the territory of the Lubart Castle, and will last until November 26, 2023. A total of 16 works of the author are presented.

According to the organizers, the artist himself took part in the opening of the exhibition online because he is currently abroad. In addition to the artist, Alina Kovshyk, a representative of the United Transitional Committee on National Revival of Belarus, gave a welcome speech.

A screening of the film "Vodokhrescha" (2023, Andriy Kutsila) was also held. In addition, other Belarusian opposition films were shown, namely the films "Batkivshchyna" (2023, Alexander Mikhalkovich, Hanna Badziaka), "Belarusian Waltz" (2007, Andrzej Fidyk), and "Courage" (2021, Alexey Paluyan).

The micro-forum featured speeches by Belarusian opposition figures and soldiers of the Kastus Kalinowsky Regiment on resistance as a form of development of Belarusian society, current economic and political relations, and possible scenarios for the development of relations between Ukraine and Belarus.

At the end, a panel discussion was held, the speakers of which were showman Dmytro Tankovich, a representative of the Center of National Resistance of Ukraine, volunteer Iryna Lukashenko, Oleksandr Dobrovolskyi (head of the internal policy department of Svitlana Tykhanovskaya's office), Eskander Bariev (Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center) and representatives of the regiment named after Kastus Kalinowsky.
