Ukraine's army achieves success in Zaporizhzhia region and south of Bakhmut

This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian Defense Forces are currently engaged in an offensive operation in the Bakhmut and Melitopol directions,” as reported in the official message.
As per the General Staff, Ukrainian troops have achieved success in the Novodanylivka and Novoprokopivka areas. They have secured their positions and are using artillery to target identified Russian sites. Additionally, they are taking measures to counter enemy artillery fire.
It's highlighted that the Defense Forces are actively continuing their offensive operations to the south of Bakhmut, while also holding their gained positions in that direction.
In contrast, Russian attempts at offensives in the Avdiivka and Marinka districts of the Donetsk region have been unsuccessful. The General Staff reports significant losses in personnel, weaponry, and equipment on the enemy's side. The Russians are repositioning units and troops and making use of their reserves.
“The Ukrainian Defense Forces are also effectively slowing down the advance of Russian troops in the Kupyansk, Lyman, and Bakhmut directions. The enemy's offensive actions in the Klishchiivka area of the Donetsk region have not been fruitful, resulting in ongoing intense battles.” the message says.

On August 22, the Defense Forces successfully repelled Russian attacks near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. Numerous clashes occurred throughout the day, with the Armed Forces eliminating 480 terrorists, 11 tanks, and 12 UAVs.
