Ukraine's Armed Forces repel Russian assault in Slovyansk direction - General Staff
Ukrainian defenders have repelled the Russian military's assault near Kurulka in the Slovyansk direction and inflicted losses on the Russian army in the Donetsk direction
This is stated in an operational update from the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff.
In the Slovyansk direction, Russian forces are trying to improve their units' tactical positions. Russian occupation forces shelled populated areas with mortar and barrel fire, and used their rocket artillery. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled enemy assaults in the Kurulka settlement area.
In the Donetsk direction, the Russians continue shelling units of the Defense Forces along the entire contact line. They use attack and army aviation. The Russians conduct reconnaissance in order to find weak points in the defense of Ukrainian troops.
The occupiers tried to improve the tactical position in the areas of the villages of Verkhnokamyanske and Kamyanka, as well as to establish control over Vuhlehirska power station with offensive and assault actions. Ukrainian soldiers inflicted casualties on the enemy with accurate fire and forced them to retreat.
In the Kharkiv direction, the Russians are trying to hold on to the previously occupied positions. They shelled the city of Kharkiv and populated areas of the region from tanks, mortars, barrel, as well as rocket artillery. In addition, they conducted aerial reconnaissance with operational-tactical Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles near Vasylenkove and Shevchenkove.
