Ukraine’s Armed Forces repel more than 70 Russian attacks – General Staff

This was reported by the AFU General Staff in the morning briefing on April 3.

Thus, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka remain at the epicenter of hostilities.

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions – more than 70 enemy attacks were repulsed.

Ukrainian soldiers hit command post, 3 air defense equipment positions, and about 10 Russian personnel positions 

On April 2, Ukrainian aviation carried out 8 strikes on Russian personnel positions. 

Units of missile troops and artillery hit 1 command post, 3 personnel positions, 3 positions of anti-aircraft defense and 6 other important enemy objects.

Russians continue the forced passporting of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region population.

In Melitopol, the Russian occupiers are forcing school teachers to renounce Ukrainian citizenship and obtain Russian passports by June 1 of the current year.

Russia launches 5 missile and 32 airstrikes against Ukraine 

The risk of strikes remains throughout the territory of Ukraine – the enemy will continue to use terror tactics.

Over the past 24 hours, Russians have launched 5 missile strikes, 32 air strikes, and more than 50 MLRS attacks.

Situation in sectors 

Northern and northeastern border with Belarus and Russia: the operational situation has not changed significantly.

During the day, Russian troops shelled 4 settlements in the Sumy region, as well as 4  settlements in the Kharkiv region.

Kupiansk direction: 8 settlements in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under Russian fire.

Lyman direction: during the day, Russian troops launched unsuccessful offensives in 2 areas. Five settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions were hit by artillery fire.

Bakhmut direction: Russian troops do not stop the assault on the city of Bakhmut. However, Ukrainian defenders courageously held the settlement and repelled 20 Russian attacks. At the same time, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensives in a settlement in the Donetsk region. During the day, they shelled 11 settlements.

Avdiivka and Marinka directions: Russian troops unsuccessfully launched offensives near 3 settlements, Ukrainian soldiers repelled more than 15 enemy attacks near Marinka and Avdiivka alone. Russians fired at 6 more settlements.

Vuhledar direction: during the day, Russian troops shelled 7 settlements in the Donetsk region.

Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions: Russian troops did not conduct active operations, improving defensive lines and positions instead. They shelled nearly 30 populated areas next to the line of military confrontation. Among them are 6 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as 7 settlements in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

• Earlier, the Ukrainian military reported that Iranian Shahed drones are low-speed targets, so it is best to use large-caliber machine guns to destroy them.
