Ukraine's Armed Forces disrupt Russia’s logistics in Melitopol
Oleh Buriak, head of Zaporizhzhya district military administration, says that the bridge, damaged on December 12, was part of Russia’s logistic route to Melitopol going through Kostiantynivka - Prymorsk - Berdiansk - Mariupol - Rostov.
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
The head commented on the explosion of the bridge in Melitopol suburbs on December 12.
"A bridge between Melitopol and the village of Kostiantynivka, which stretched across the old channel of the Molochna River, was blown up. Two support columns were blown up, which made 2 spans of the bridge collapse. In addition, it has been pouring rain for more than a week and the entire channel of the Molochna River is washed out, respectively, it is difficult to cross this territory with wheeled vehicles, although it is possible with tracked vehicles,” commented the head.
Oleh Buriak said that the bridge was part of the Melitopol - Kostyantynivka - Prymorsk - Berdiansk - Mariupol - Rostov route, i.e. this is there Russia established its logistic route from Rostov to replenish Russian units with ammunition or personnel in Melitopol.
"And now the destroyed bridge has broken this entire logistics chain. It is possible to make a bypass road, but it will take some time, and constant rains complicate this process. Blowing up this bridge is a powerful step of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to disrupt the plans of the occupiers," Buriak noted.
