The NACP has launched a sanction proceeding against the Russian Gavary Group, a polymer products supplier in Russia that works for the Russian military-industrial complex

This was reported by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention.

The Gavary Group began working for the Russian military-industrial complex after the start of the full-scale invasion.

"Until recently, the Gavary Group has publicly stated that it supplies its products to the sanctioned Kalashnikov concern, which is a manufacturer of automatic and sniper weapons and guided artillery shells. Gavary's EVA polymers are also used in the production of special footwear, body armor and helmets for Russian soldiers," the statement said.

In addition, the Gavary Group openly supports Russia's war against Ukraine and provides Russian soldiers with warm insoles and shoes made of EVA polymers of its own production and sleeping pads.

It is also noted that the company continues to supply its goods to a number of European countries, including Germany, Poland, the Baltic States, and Switzerland. The NACP says that the company uses subsidiaries for this purpose.

In addition, Gavary Group continues to cooperate with foreign suppliers of raw materials. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company has imported more than $9 million worth of raw materials. The main suppliers include German, American, French, Belgian, and Spanish companies.

"Russia's military-industrial complex consists of thousands of companies that imitate civilian companies and cooperate with Western markets by selling car mats, for example. We will be able to stop the Russian military machine only if Ukraine and our partners in the sanctions coalition expose and block the activities of all such companies," said Agiya Zagrebelska, head of the NACP's corruption risk minimization department in the sanctions policy.

For reference. Gavary Group produces a wide range of polymer products, from car mats to cable and wire coatings and vibration isolation materials for railways. According to the NAPC, until February 24, 2022, Gavary's partners were Russian Railways and the Moscow Metro. In 2016, the company was recognized at the federal level for its significant contribution to the process of import substitution in Russia.
