Ukraine’s air defense destroys all 18 missiles launched by Russia at night

On the night of May 16, air defense units downed 6 Kinzhal, 9 Kalibr and 3 ballistic missiles launched by Russia against Ukraine

On May 16 at approximately 3:30 a.m., Ukraine was targeted by a Russian attack from the north, south, and east. The assault involved 18 missiles of various types, including air, sea, and land-based weaponry.

According to the Air Force, six MiG-31K aircraft fired six Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, while nine Kalibr cruise missiles were launched from ships in the Black Sea. Additionally, three ground-based missiles, including S-400 and Iskander-M systems, were deployed. All of the missiles were successfully intercepted and destroyed.

The Air Force of Ukraine also reported that the enemy conducted an attack during the night of May 16, utilizing Shahed-136/131 attack drones and performing aerial reconnaissance with three operational-tactical drones, namely Orlan-10 and SuperCam. However, all of these hostile drones were effectively neutralized.
