Zelenskyy names reasons for Zaluzhnyi's resignation and change of military command
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the change of command of Ukraine's Armed Forces was necessary to reboot the army's management, but this does not mean a reset of actions at the front

Espreso reported the information, citing an interview with Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Fox News.
Zelenskyy noted that the change of command was necessary because "some things have not changed for some time."
"We need to be faster. This means we need to get rid of all the bureaucracy we have. Otherwise, we have no chance. We need to be smart, including technologically, and of course fast. Time is money. In our case, it is not money, but human lives," he said.
The President said that Zaluzhnyi's resignation was of his own free will, not because of competition or an opposing opinion.
"This is his choice. He defended our country. And for this I awarded him the title. I am very grateful to him," Zelenskyy said.
- On February 8, Zelenskyy dismissed the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces Zaluzhnyi and appointed Oleksandr Syrskyi to replace him.
