This was announced by Deputy Head of the President's Office Ihor Zhovkva.
It is the first time Ukraine has entered into such an agreement with a country outside the Group of Seven.
This year, Denmark will provide Ukraine with €1.8 billion in military support. The Danish Fund for Ukraine has also allocated €8.5 billion to support our country in 2023-2028.
According to Zhovkva, Ukraine's security agreement with Denmark differs from the previous ones in that it has a "powerful military bloc" in addition to the classic provisions on supporting Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO in the future, a new path of reforms, cooperation in cybersecurity, intelligence, defense industry, restoration of Ukraine, as well as sanctions against Russia and bringing it to justice.
"Denmark, as a co-chair of the Air Force Coalition (AFCC) and a member of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Coalition: "will support the efforts to ensure the full capability of the F-16 through the Air Force Coalition (AFCC), in particular by providing fighters, ammunition, training and exercises, as well as contributing to the long-term maintenance of the fighters and the creation of appropriate conditions in Ukraine," Zhovkva said.
The signatory states also enshrined in the agreement support for the development of Ukraine's navy, demining efforts, and the provision of high-tech military assistance by Denmark, including radars, communications equipment, and UAVs.
According to the document, Denmark will support Ukraine for ten years within the term of the agreement. It is also possible to extend it with the consent of both parties.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that this security agreement is "a strong document that confirms Denmark's unwavering support for our people."
"In particular, in the amount of at least EUR 1.8 billion this year. Denmark will also support efforts to ensure the integral capability of the F-16 through the Aviation Coalition: providing fighters, ammunition, simulators, training, and maintenance. We continue to work on a new security architecture for our country. We thank Denmark for its solidarity with our people. Thank you for your help!" the President added.
Earlier, Zelenskyy announced a meeting with Frederiksen on his Telegram channel.
The leaders of Ukraine and Denmark paid tribute to the fallen defenders of Ukraine at the Field of Mars near Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.
"We will never forget the heroes who defended our independence, freedom and future. Eternal glory to all those who gave their lives for Ukraine!" Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.
On February 23, a delegation of the U.S. Congress led by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer arrived in Lviv. He announced this on the social network X.
American officials plan to meet with President Zelenskyy.
"I am leading this delegation to meet with President Zelenskyy to show the Ukrainian people that America stands with them, to show our NATO and European allies we stand with them, to learn about the arms Ukraine vitally needs, and to protect our democracy and national security," Schumer said.
