Ukraine will demand USD 300 billion in reparations from Russia — Denys Malyuska
Ukraine will seek USD 300 billion in reparations from Russia for damages caused by the full-scale invasion.
Denis Malyuska, the Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Denis Malyuska reports.
At the UN General Assembly, Ukraine is about to achieve the adoption of a resolution on which the creation of an international compensation mechanism should be based in the future, Malyuska said.
"We want to receive compensation for all the damage that Russia caused to Ukraine with its aggressive war," the minister said.
At the same time, the losses caused to Ukraine by the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation are estimated to be much higher. However, the amount of $300 billion corresponds to the assets of the Central Bank of Russia in the G7 countries, frozen due to sanctions.
Kyiv requested access to these funds, as well as to foreign assets of Russian state-owned enterprises and confiscated property of Russian oligarchs.
