Owls of Ukraine's military intelligence will live in Kyiv Zoo
During a combat mission in the Kharkiv region, soldiers with Ukraine's 92nd Brigade rescued two owls. From now on, the birds will live in a special aviary in Kyiv Zoo.

It is noted that the birds' names are Arei and Magura. During a combat mission near the village of Lyptsi, Kharkiv region, soldiers with the 92nd Brigade's Achilles company found owlets in a house destroyed by shelling in the liberated territory.
"They were hungry and exhausted in the cage - they were evacuated from the combat zone," the intelligence reports.
Since the owl is a symbol of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, the soldiers with the 92nd Brigade handed over the rescued birds to the care of the Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov. He decided that the owls should live in the Kyiv Zoo.
"I am very glad that the guys did a great job, handing over these birds to us. They will be fine - 100%. We rehabilitate the animals, adapt them and try to do our best to make sure that they are fine even in such difficult times," said Kyrylo Trantyn, the general director of Kyiv Zoo.
Ukrainian troops' arsenal expands with new Dzhura armored vehicle

The Dzhura armored vehicle is built on a Toyota Land Cruiser 70 chassis, with a specially designed armor capsule installed. According to the Ministry of Defense, its compact size and relatively low weight enhance its cross-country mobility.
"Depending on the purpose, the armored vehicle can be manufactured in different configurations of the armored cabin and luggage compartment," the statement said.
The corresponding armored vehicle can be used for various purposes - for reconnaissance and patrolling, for logistics tasks or for evacuation of the wounded.
Turkey ratifies free trade agreement with Ukraine
Hurriyet Daily News reported the information.
The outlet reported that the agreement was signed on February 3, 2022, but President Erdoğan approved the agreement and its annexes on August 1, 2024.
The volume of bilateral trade between Turkey and Ukraine in 2023 amounted to $7.3 billion, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat said on August 1 after meeting with Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
He emphasized that the FTA (free trade area) is expected to increase the trade volume to $10 billion in a short period.
Bolat noted that Turkey and Ukraine will continue to strengthen cooperation and increase mutual trade and investment based on shared interests.
“Turkish companies will take an active part in the implementation of the Türkiye-Ukraine Task Force for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, which we mutually signed in Istanbul in January this year,” he added.
Svyrydenko also noted that strengthening economic cooperation and trade was discussed.
According to her, the completion of the ratification of the free trade agreement with Turkey will unite all Black Sea countries, except Russia, into a single economic space that is mutually beneficial for all countries.
Turkey has effectively become a hub for supplying Ukrainian grain to other countries, added the minister.
"We have sent ships with grain to African countries from Turkey, including 25,000 tons to Nigeria and 15,000 tons to Sudan," Svyrydenko informed.
She mentioned that other key issues discussed included regional trade, maritime security, and the demining of the Black Sea waters.
Russia loses 2 boats, 12 guns, and 3 motorcycles in southern Ukraine
Over the day, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 72 Russian soldiers and 37 pieces of military equipment in the south
The Southern Defense Forces reported this.
"Southern Defense Forces are inflicting fire on enemy locations, firing positions, and rear," the statement says.
Thus, according to confirmed reports, Russia lost:
- 2 tanks;
- 12 guns;
- 6 units of automotive equipment;
- 5 reconnaissance UAVs;
- 4 portable electronic warfare stations;
- 3 mortars;
- 2 boats;
- 3 units of motorized vehicles.
Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 1 UAV control center, 1 Molniya UAV launcher, 4 logistics storage sites, 4 ammunition storage sites, 1 observation post, and 3 dugouts.
Four S-400 systems destroyed in Crimea overnight
The Crimean Wind Telegram channel reports.
According to the Telegram channel's sources, a position of S-400 Triumph air defense systems consisting of four launchers based on MAZ-543 and radar type 92H6 was preliminarily hit at night in Sevastopol on the heights of Kaya Bash.
The Crimean Wind also published photos and videos.
