On February 27, the speakers of 23 parliaments and the head of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, sent an open letter to the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, asking him to introduce a bill to provide $60 billion in aid to Ukraine.
The Chairman of the Ukrainian parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, posted this on Facebook.
Stefanchuk initiated the letter. He thanked his colleagues for their "quick and broad support.”
According to him, in an open letter, the parliamentary leaders asked Johnson to submit to the House of Representatives the US Senate's International Assistance Bill, which was passed on February 13, 2024, and provides for $60.06 billion in aid to Ukraine.
"We, the speakers of the parliaments, called on Johnson to facilitate the adoption of a historic decision by the US Congress that will ensure US assistance to foreign countries and provide Ukraine with the necessary funds to continue its struggle," Stefanchuk added.
The letter states that the EU countries are ready to further increase their support for Ukraine and its Defense Forces, seeing it as a significant investment in our individual and collective security.

"The DITA howitzer is a modern fire system capable of hitting targets at a distance of tens of kilometers. Ukraine is in great need of this weapon. That is why the Netherlands has recently ordered 9 for this country," the statement says.
It is noted that these weapons are part of a large Dutch order for Ukraine, which is supplied by two arms manufacturers in the Czech Republic.

According to him, Ukraine is currently receiving armored personnel carriers.
"The armored personnel carriers for Ukraine are still in Sofia. They will leave in a few days, but I won't give you a time frame," he added, assuring that the top-priority aid has long since left.

The funds were provided on a non-refundable basis as part of the World Bank's Public Expenditure Assistance for Sustainable Governance in Ukraine (PEACE in Ukraine) project.
"The funds will be used to partially compensate for the expenditures of the state budget of Ukraine not related to the security and defense sector, in particular, pension payments, payments to employees of the State Emergency Service (SES) and salaries for teachers," the press service of the Ministry of Finance informed.

The command noted that the Defense Forces continue to inflict fire on Russian locations, firing positions and rear areas.
In particular, over the past day, it was confirmed that Russia had 2 fewer cannons, a mortar, a boat, and 3 units of other equipment (a motorcycle and an excavator) on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces also landed three reconnaissance UAVs - two Supercam and one Zala.
In addition, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 6 dugouts, 2 UAV launch points, an ammunition supply point, and a maneuverable electronic reconnaissance group.
On February 28, the Lithuanian Cabinet of Ministers unanimously adopted a resolution to allocate an additional 326,000 euros to support refugees from Ukraine.

It is stated that the funds will be sent to the Ministry of Social Protection, Labor and Healthcare, which will distribute them according to the needs of Ukrainians.
In particular, 304,000 euros of the total amount will be allocated to cover expenses for February. Of this amount, 130,000 euros will be allocated for one-time payments for accommodation in the municipality and compensation for the child's education in a preschool or pre-school program, 160,000 euros will be spent on providing inpatient social care. Another 14,000 euros will be allocated for institutional social care provided in accordance with the procedure for the allocation of social services to foreigners established by the Minister of Social Protection and Labor.
