Macron announces coalition to supply Ukraine with long-range weapons

This was reported by Le Monde.

According to the French leader, after a press conference in Paris to support Ukraine, it was decided to "create a coalition for deep strikes and, therefore, medium- and long-range missiles and bombs.”

"Over the next ten days, we are going to make all these efforts because we have seen many European and non-European countries that have munitions," Macron said.

The French president also called on Europeans to "produce more" of the relevant weapons.

The Netherlands to provide €100 million for shells for Ukraine at Czech initiative

This was reported by the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte on X.

The official noted that Ukrainian troops continue to stand their ground, but Russia continues to put pressure. That is why it poses great challenges to the defenders.

“It is essential, first and foremost, that we deliver what we’ve promised. And look at what else we can do. That is why the Netherlands is contributing more than 100 million euros to the Czech initiative to quickly deliver hundreds of thousands of artillery shells to Ukraine,” Rutte wrote.

He added that Putin is preparing for a long war, so we should continue to show that “we are unwavering and time is not on his side.”

France to join initiative to buy shells for Ukraine outside the EU

This was reported by Bloomberg.

The idea of purchasing hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition from several countries was presented by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala at an extraordinary summit of European leaders in Paris on Monday, February 26. The purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate support for Kyiv and emphasize the West's determination to help it win the war against Russia.

“The Czech proposal is totally consistent with what we’ve done in terms of artillery,” Macron told a news conference after the talks. “We have asked non-EU countries to reach solutions. We will participate in this initiative. We are totally open to it. Our only target is efficiency,” Macron said.

Today, February 27, at around 11 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force reported shooting down a Russian Su-34 in the eastern sector.

Around 2 p.m., the Air Force downed another Su-34 fighter jet.

"Around 2 p.m. we destroyed another Su-34. The direction is the same! The goal is the same! With such losses of combat and special aviation, the Russians should think about stopping the "air assaults" at least for a while," the statement says.

European Parliament supports €50 billion for Ukraine

The European Parliament has supported the decision on the Ukraine Facility, a multi-year financial assistance program for Ukraine worth 50 billion euros.

This was stated by Radio Liberty correspondent Rickard Jozwiak on the X network.

“The European Parliament has now overwhelmingly (536 for, 40 against, 39 abstention) approved the 50 billion euro aid for Ukraine,” he wrote.

In March, the Cabinet of Ministers will approve the plan for the Ukraine Facility and submit it to the European Commission. The final approval of the plan by the EU is expected in April, which will allow the Ukraine Facility to operate fully, the Ministry of Economy informed.
