Drones attacked an oil depot in Russia

On the night of January 25, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the Russian city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar Krai as a result of a drone attack. According to a number of media outlets, citing their own sources, it was a special operation by the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU).

"The SBU is striking deep into Russia and continues to attack facilities that are not only important for the Russian economy but also provide fuel for enemy troops. There will be many surprises ahead, the systematic work continues," the source said.

Hungary won't block the creation of a military fund for Ukraine

Hungary won't prevent creation of the EUR 5 billion military fund for Ukraine, which will allow it to initiate an agreement to modernize the mechanism of stable arms supplies to Kyiv. Bloomberg reported this.

The article says that Budapest will not prevent a consensus from being reached at a meeting of EU ambassadors on Wednesday, January 31.

The publication reminded that Budapest is also blocking EUR 50 billion in financial aid to Ukraine and the disbursement of the last tranche of EUR 500 million from the European Peace Fund (EPF). Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that his country might consider supporting the disbursement of funds after a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, scheduled for Monday, January 29.

Ukraine received two more LRU systems from France

The French Defense Ministry handed over two additional LRU multiple launch rocket systems, which are similar to Himars, to Ukraine as part of the artillery coalition. General Jean-Michel Guilloton said this in an interview with the press service of the French Defense Ministry.

"France has the right to lead this coalition given the artillery equipment it has transferred to Ukraine: about 30 Caesars, while we had only 75, 4 LRU multiple launch rocket systems, TRF1 guns and 120mm mortars," the general said.

In the report on military assistance to Ukraine for 2022, the French Defense Ministry stated that only two LRU systems were transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Thus, we can conclude that there was another delivery after that, which was not announced in the media.
