Ukraine tests 9 new models of equipment for evacuation from battlefield
Ukraine has conducted demonstration trials of robotic equipment for medical evacuation from the battlefield
Ukraine's Defense Ministry reports.
Representatives of Ukraine's Armed Forces, the Medical Forces Command, military medics, embassy representatives from various countries, and journalists participated in the event marking World Emergency Medical Services Day.
The event aimed to draw attention to the issue of medical evacuation in combat zones and to encourage foreign partners to engage in direct contracts with Ukrainian manufacturers as part of the ZBROYARI: Manufacturing Freedom project.
"Every hour of delay in medical evacuation can cost the lives of wounded defenders. It is crucial for us to implement technologies that allow for the rapid evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield, preserving the lives and health of the military personnel conducting these evacuations. Currently, robotic systems cannot be procured using budgetary funds, so we need the support of our partners. Additionally, assistance is needed to improve these systems for better application and to save lives," said Valentyna Obolentseva, head of the Medical Supply Policy Department.
The Ministry of Strategic Industries noted that it expects partner countries to help procure these weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"Such equipment is needed at the frontline, it saves the lives of both the wounded and military medics. Our manufacturers are able to produce quality products, but additional funds are needed to purchase them. That's why we showed these samples of equipment to representatives of partner countries to help us purchase these means for the army," said Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Anna Hvozdiar.
At the trials, 9 products from 7 Ukrainian manufacturers were presented, including automotive equipment and ground robotic platforms.
The Defense Ministry noted that funds from partner countries for the purchase of robotic systems are being raised through the ZBROYARI: Manufacturing Freedom project. The goal of this project is to raise $10 billion for the production of Ukrainian weapons in 2024.
"We need unmanned ground vehicles for rapid evacuation and partner support for their implementation," said Captain of the Medical Service Oleksandr Danyliuk, Deputy Director of the Defense Ministry's Health Department.
