Ukraine temporarily loses 44% of nuclear generation, 75% of TPP capacity, 33% of block CHPs
Every second Ukrenergo substation has been attacked by the occupying Russian forces over the past four months. In total, Ukraine has lost 75% of its thermal power plant capacity as a result of the shelling
Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reminded that the invading Russian forces launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on February 10.
“In general, almost two dozen power units of thermal power plants remain damaged due to constant attacks. If we add to this the fact of the occupation of some of our energy facilities, Ukraine has temporarily lost 44% of nuclear generation, 75% of TPP capacity and 33% of block CHPs,” the Prime Minister said.
According to him, every second Ukrenergo substation has been attacked by the enemy over the past four months.
“Despite this terror, the vast majority of Ukrainians remain with heat, water and electricity. Repairs are underway, there are enough resources to end the winter, generators are arriving, and power equipment from our partners is on its way,” Shmyhal said.
