Ukraine spends 100% of taxes to cover needs of security and defence forces, PM says
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine spends all domestic resources, namely taxes of citizens and businesses, to meet the needs of the Security and Defence Forces
He made the announcement at a government meeting on Friday, August 4.
It is noted that the budget provides for UAH 1 trillion 800 billion for the needs of Ukraine's defence forces. This amount may still change.
"These funds - almost UAH 2 trillion - are our budget expenditures for the war. We are grateful to each and every person who helps our security and defence forces. Those who support, pay taxes, and work for our victory," he said in a statement.
Shmyhal added that other budget expenditures are funded, in particular, by international partners and donors.

On July 21, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal called on local and central authorities to postpone expenditures that are not included in the priority areas of funding, namely security and defence, social sphere, critical infrastructure and reconstruction.
