"Ordinary voters" will lead to punishment

Ever since I started to understand something in this life - somewhere around high school - I have been skeptical of universal democracy

Because an unrestricted right to vote is hardly better than an unrestricted monarchy.

"And what is happening now in Poland and the USA is direct proof of this. When politicians think only about future elections, not about the future of the country and the world."

In the 20-40s of the last century, totalitarian populists almost destroyed civilization.

I hope this time we will come out with fewer losses. And finally, come up with some sort of safeguard against ochlocracy.

Just as parliaments stabilized monarchs, someone now needs to balance out the “simple voters.” Otherwise, in the age of social media, they will lead us all to chaos.
