Ukraine should not expect Leopard tanks on battlefield in early April - Defense Express editor-in-chief Katkov
The training of Ukrainian military on Leopard tanks will be completed by the end of March, but there will be a period of combat coordination of the tank brigade which it also requires some time
Oleh Katkov, editor-in-chief of, shared his opinions on Espreso TV.
"There are talks that donor countries will form a tank brigade with Leopard 2, which is a little less than a hundred vehicles. This is a unit that can change the situation on the battlefield and the front line. It is a powerful force that has exceptional capabilities to conduct combat operations in breaking through defense lines," he said.
Katkov predicted when the tanks might be deployed to the front line.
"Tanker training will be completed by the end of March, but there is also a period of combat coordination of the tank brigade. It also takes some time and will take place on the territory of Ukraine. We should not expect tanks to start attacking in early April. Most likely, it will take some time to get all the equipment and to conduct combat coordination of the unit with the new tanks. This requires time," the expert summarized.
