Ukraine returns bodies of 62 more fallen soldiers

On Friday, 14 July, the bodies of 62 more fallen servicemen have been returned from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine

Ukraine's Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories reported the information.

"Today, the bodies of fallen Ukrainian servicemen were repatriated from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Thus, we managed to return the bodies of 62 more defenders," the statement said.

Four of the soldiers died in Russian captivity as a result of injury, illness and inadequate medical care. 

The repatriation of the bodies from the temporary occupied territories took place with the assistance of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Commissioner for Missing Persons in cooperation with the Joint Centre at the Security Service of Ukraine, the Civil-Military Cooperation Department of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, other law enforcement agencies, departments and international organisations. 

The transfer of the bodies of fallen soldiers is carried out in accordance with the Geneva Conventions. Following identification, the bodies of Ukrainian defenders will be handed over to their families for a burial ceremony.
