Slovakia extends temporary protection for Ukrainians for another year
On February 21, the Slovak government approved a resolution to extend the temporary asylum for Ukrainians who moved to the country because of the war

According to the decision of the Slovak government, temporary asylum for Ukrainians will be extended until 4 March 2025.
It is noted that Ukrainians can update the document through the electronic services of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic.
Temporary asylum status allows refugees to work in Slovakia, receive secondary and higher education, attend school, have access to medical care and housing, and entitles them to financial assistance if necessary.
- Earlier, the Polish Sejm voted to extend temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine until 30 June 2024.
