Ukraine receives 500 million euros of macro-financial assistance from EU
Today, December 14, Ukraine received the last tranche of exceptional eighth EU macro-financial assistance (MFD) program in the amount of EUR 500 million
Ukrainian Ministry of Finance reports.
"Since the beginning of full-scale war, European Union has provided Ukraine with 7.2 billion euros of macro-financial assistance. These funds helped to cope with negative economic consequences of war and preserve stability of financial system in the face of Russian full-scale invasion. I thank my colleagues from EU for the consistent and systematic support of Ukraine," — Ukrainian Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko noted.
According to the information, credit funds of MFD will be directed to finance the most urgent expenditures of State Budget and will contribute to maintaining financial stability in Ukraine.
Ukraine received the first tranche of EUR 2 billion in October 2022, the second tranche of EUR 2.5 billion was sent to State Budget of Ukraine in November 2022. Total funding under this program is EUR 5 billion.
